Acalypha wilkesiana Green & Gold or Yellow Acalypha as it is more commonly known is a stunning evergreen with spectacular, bright green foliage coloured with yellows. Small white flowers bloom on long stems in the warmer months, rendering this ornamental perfect for specimen planting.
Growing 1.25 - 2.5 m, the Yellow Acalypha is ideal for hedging, contrast, and feature planting. For most effective hedging results, we recommend planting around 1 metre apart, and to prune twice a year in cooler climates to maintain colour and density. Layer this beauty in a hedge behind other plants for both height and gorgeous colour contrast.
Frost tender, mildly wind tolerant. Most well drained soils. Prefers mulching in Summer. Prefers full sun, but tolerates some shade.
