The Bird's Nest Fern is a gorgeous evergreen fern that is a favourite among Aussie gardeners. The bright green, leathery frond foliage and the 'nest-like' centre are hugely popular utilised in hanging baskets, feature planting, native or tropical landscaping, container planting or indoor gardening.
Try growing it naturally on tree trunks or mounting onto feature walls for a stunning cascading effect. In full maturity each frond can grow between 1-2 metres long, and this plant can be grown in the rocks, on tree trunks, vertically or straight into the ground. Create a truly stunning tropical forest feel in your garden. Shade friendly, they are also perfectly suited for planting up underneath larger plants or trees.
Lightly frost tolerant, humidity hardy. Can grow on trees, in rocks or in well drained soils (dislikes wet feet). Mulch until established. Prefers part shade to full shade.
