The Heath Banksia is a beautiful evergreen bearing long spikes of striking, large orange-brown flowers from autumn to spring. The flowers are sought after for their long lasting ability in floral arrangements, and for being highly attractive to birdlife. This gardening favourite is a prized addition in landscaping, growing 1 - 3 metres tall the gorgeous Banksia is also fast growing.
The attractive needle grey-green foliage is ideal for screening, contrast planting, cut flowers, feature planting or for use as a windbreak. The flowers of Banksia varieties also contain a sweet nectar, which is sought after as Australian 'Bush Tucker'; suck the nectar out of the flower, or soak the flowers in order to make a sweet drink.
Hardy to most elements; frost, wind and drought tolerant. Prefers well-drained soils. Prefers full sun, can tolerate partial shade.
