Banksia spinulosa

Common Name: Hairpin Banksia

Availabilty: Out of Stock ENQUIRE NOW

The Banksia Spinulosa, or the Hairpin Banksia as it is also known, is a very hardy evergreen tree that grows up to 2 metres tall. This striking native has stunning yellow/bronze spike-like flowers arriving in the cooler months and an unusual sprawled, gnarly growth habit. Very popular for cut flowers, which are long lasting in floral arrangements.

The Hairpin Banksia is highly attractive to local wildlife (especially birds), and adds an interesting contrast and variety to most gardens. The non-invasive root structure makes it an ideal addition to your garden. This is a type of Australian "Bush Tucker". The flowers of Banksia varieties contain sweet nectar, and you can suck the nectar out of the flower, or soak the flowers in water to make a sweet drink.

Frost & wind tolerant. Full sun. Hardy.
