Common Name: Dwarf Japanese Box
Availabilty: In Stock
Buxus Faulkner, or the Dwarf Japanese Box as it can be more commonly called, is a gorgeous evergreen shrub or small tree with deep green cheery and fragrant foliage, that bears small and scented green flowers in the spring. Very popular in English gardens due to its' tight growth habit, scented foliage, small leaves and tolerance of close shearing.
Growing up to 1 metre tall, it is ideal for clipping as a small formal hedge, the compact growth habit remaining thick and robust with regular trimming. Also attractive when shaped as a topiary container shrub, having a shallow root system. Perfect for formalising gardens, ornamental planting and traditional landscaping; and although it is not a fast grower, the slower growth habit renders it low maintenance and it is hardy in addition.
Hardy, low maintenance. Frost and wind tolerant. Hardy to most soils though prefers well drained soil bases; mulch in warmer months. Full sun or part shade.
