Common Name: 'Burgundy' Bottlebrush
Availabilty: In Stock
The Burgundy Bottlebrush is a gorgeous evergreen Australian native bearing truly striking deep purple bottlebrush flowers generously throughout the warmer months. This medium shrub has the classic green Callistemon foliage, while new growth is an attractive pink.
Growing up to 4 metres tall and wide, this pretty girl is ideal for hedging, specimen planting, borders, screening or windbreaks Don't let her dainty appearance fool you though, she is tough (frost, drought, wind & salt tolerant), hardy and low maintenance to boot! A non-invasive root system means that she can be planted close to walkways or buildings, in fact plant near the house to attract birds, as the flowers are highly attractive to local bird and insect life (as well as the keen gardener of course *wink*).
Hardy to drought, wind & salt, tolerates frost. Most well drained soils. Full sun to part shade. Attractive to birds and insects.
