The gorgeous Golden Fernleaf Cypress is a truly striking variegated evergreen growing in a shrubby upright fashion. The fern-like needled conifer foliage grows generously and plentifully, and those parts exposed to sunlight mature into a golden yellow, while the undersides are a gorgeous green. This irregular conical has one of the best foliage colourations of all the conifers. Insignificant yellow flowers appear in the spring.
Growing up to 2 metres tall over 10 years, she is truly striking in borders, feature planting, large tubs or used for foliage contrast. This faster grower than most other Hinoke Cypress varieties will provide years of enjoyment, and is normally grown in a prominent location as the foliage creates a spectacular show year round. This pretty girl is a real show-stopper, and you won't want to miss out!
Mild frost and wind tolerance. Protect from hot wind. Most well drained soils; mulch while establishing. Full sun to part shade. While she will grow in the shade, you will not get the stunning colour variation of the foliage without sun.
