The Cordyline australis, or the Cabbage tree as it can be more commonly known, is a pretty evergreen cordyline variety with deep green foliage and a unique growth habit. Small white flowers bloom in autumn followed by cheery green berries. Growing 3 - 14 metres tall the glossy leaves and striking colour are a beautiful garden addition.
This variety is significantly tougher than her already tough cousins, been very hardy to most conditions including frost, wind and salt, and only sensitive to high humidity. Popular as a feature in a pebble garden or oriental theme, she is ideal as a feature plant, tub specimen, borders, contrast planting, Mediterranean or tropical gardens. Self cleaning and hardy to so many conditions, this is a low maintenance garden addition that really delivers a punch.
