The Cordyline fruticosa Purple Compacta is one of our new lines and is proving to be very popular, and with good reason! This pretty evergreen is a gorgeous Cordyline variety with stunning bronzed-burgundy and deeper green foliage. As 'Purple Compacta' suggests, it is a compact cordyline that only grows up to 1 metre tall with broad-leafed and close growing foliage, the plant begins in gorgeous burgundy tones and graduates to a bright-green foliage with burgundy trim.

Grow in a pot or straight into the ground, layer in the garden or use as colour contrast and in those hard-to-grow areas. They respond well to pruning to maintain your desired height; line along paths or house bases for a lovely result. This variety is small enough to be used for border planting and is ideal for tropical or contemporary gardens.

Moderately tolerant of wind. Frost sensitive. Sensitive to high humidity, hardy to other conditions. Most well drained soils. Full sun to part shade.
