The Ctenanthe Setosa is a a gorgeous clumping evergreen with striking, oblong green foliage with a silver herringbone pattern, contrasting beautifully with deep purple undersides. Famous for her 'dancing leaves', the foliage position shifts throughout the day depending on the sun... upright in the morning light and waving good morning, and 'going to sleep' by dropping prettily in the evening.
Stunning indoors as a specimen plant, or delightful planted out into the shady spots in the garden, and growing 700 - 900 mm tall and 800 mm wide, this tropical girl thrives in warm and highly humid environments and prefers indirect light. Gorgeous as a feature, providing contrast, container planting, underplanting, indoor gardening or plant en masse for tropical landscaping. Shelter this beauty underneath larger shrubs to offer a protected environment, or keep indoors for a truly rewarding centre-piece.
Over-waterers rejoice, as this pretty loves a well drained, but moist (but not soggy!) soil base. If looking a little thirsty, a spritz of the leaves can provided added hydration. We love our Setosa, and we're sure you will too!
Humidity hardy. Sensitive to frost, drought, wind. Most soils, prefers a moist base. Part to full shade; prefers indirect light indoors.
