As famous as the Royal family, the beautiful Royal Poinciana is a stunning semi-deciduous ornamental feature tree, with vibrant red-orange flowers exploding through summer, followed by bean like pods. This large spreading tree grows 3 - 10 metres tall, with lacy fern-like foliage creating beautiful mottled shade in the warmer months.

Though the flowers typically take maturity to appear, sometimes up to 10 years... we promise, this show-girl is worth it, there's a reason we call her royalty! The tree herself is a fast grower and establisher however, thank goodness! Perfect for ornamental planting, lining borders or driveways to spectacular result and planting in the back yard as a shade tree. We recommend planting away from buildings and drains due to her wide growth habit and deep roots.

 Tolerant of wind, salt & drought, sensitive to frost.  Most well drained soils, prefers drier conditions.  Prefers partial shade, adapts to full sun.
