The Dracaena draco, or the Dragon Blood Tree as it can be more commonly known (called such because of the red-tinged sap), is a stunning evergreen that is known as one of the world's most unique and grand feature trees. The strap-like foliage in a blue-green and iconic spiked-ball growth habit, combined with the extreme tolerance to drought make this a highly sought after prospect for landscapers and home gardeners alike.

Hugely popular as an indoor house plant, striking outdoor specimen tree, or utilised as a feature in container planting. Slow growing and therefore low maintenance, it can take up to 10 years to reach about 1.5 metres (ideal for indoor planting!), and the single, smooth grey trunk becomes multi-stemmed as the plant matures. When allowed to grow unchecked it will soar to great heights of up to 4.5 - 7.5 metres tall, but most homes retain its' growth at 1 - 2 metres through maintenance and potting in containers.

Hardy to drought once established, highly resistant to pests and disease. Prefers well drained soils (avoid wet bases). Full sun or part shade.
