Ficus lyrata (Fiddle Leaf Fig)

Common Name: Fiddle Leaf Fig, Banjo Fig, Banyan Fig

Availabilty: Out of Stock ENQUIRE NOW

The Fiddle Leaf Fig has been voted the world's most popular houseplant, (be still my beating heart!), and for good reason! This luscious evergreen beauty has enormous fiddle-shaped foliage with crinkled edges, creating quite the show-stopping home addition. Sought after for large outdoor landscapes and interior design alike, there's really nothing quite like the Fiddle Leaf Fig.

This tropical guy thrives in humidity, but is pretty easy-going and can adapt to less humid conditions. Fast growing, they can reach up to 10 - 12 metres outdoors, but a far more sensible 1 - 3 metres indoors (depending on pot size). This handsome fella does best when allowed to grow, as this variety is not particularly suited to trimming (Sorry, bonsai fans!).

They like a moist soil base, but dislike wet feet. Watering once a week should be adequate as they are quite happy drying out a little between waterings. Pro-tip: Turn them a little each time you water them to ensure they don't reach for the light and become lopsided. Ficus have aggressive root systems, so we don't recommend planting near buildings or walkways. But they are quite content getting a little root bound in their pots :) Lazy gardeners rejoice!

Humidity hardy. Well drained soils. Bright filtered indoor light. Full sun outdoors, tolerates bright part shade.

You are buying beautiful, happy, sun-hardened (excepting indoor varieties) tubestock with root systems. Tubestock is the youngest plant you can buy, which keeps it affordable (so you can buy more plants *wink*). Please note our infographic included in every plant listing for an indication of sizing. Pictures are examples only, and your stock may be larger or smaller than what is shown.
