Common Name: Mauritius Hemp
Availabilty: In Stock
The famous Mauritius Hemp is a gorgeous evergreen succulent perennial with bright, variegated foliage. Striking sword-shaped leaves in bright yellow that are slashed with green borders, and bearing a creamy white stripe down the centre; creating quite the spectacle for the garden.
Growing 1200 - 1500 mm tall, this exotic looking girl is perfect for border planting, rockeries, contrast planting, succulent gardens or tropical landscaping. She's also beautiful on patios or standing alone as a striking feature. At full maturity, scented greenish-white flowers appear from a large spike, which are highly attractive to bees, after which the basal plant dies, but not before becoming covered in smaller plants. Water infrequently for best result.
Humidity and drought tolerant, sensitive to frost and wind. Prefers rich, well drained soils. Prefers cool sun, light shade for best result.
