Hydrocotyle Vulgaris

Common Name: Pennywort / copper coin

Availabilty: Out of Stock ENQUIRE NOW

The gorgeous Pennywort is a beautiful perennial waterlands ground-cover. The penny sized leaves are round umbrella shapes with scalloped edges in a pleasing bright green that stand to attention. The best part about this cheery little guy is that as he originates in wetlands, he is perfect for your gardens wet areas and thrives with wet feet!

Growing 50 - 300 mm tall, he's ideal for water gardens, ponds, mixed beds, potted specimens and indoor gardening. Low maintenance, small and inconsequential purple flowers bloom occasionally. Outdoors Pennywort serves as an attractive creeping and spreading ground-cover that loves shade, but indoors or potted, they make a cheery little specimen. Although they like wet feet in a wetland environment, take care to avoid root rot indoors through over-watering. As he's a fast spreader, some prefer to keep him in containers, but if you want to cover a shady or full sun area en masse, this guy is PERFECT.

Happy with wet feet. Full sun, part shade, tolerates part shade.
