''Kokedama'' is a Japanese word that literally translates to 'Moss Ball' in English. This cousin to bonsai gardening is hugely popular for string gardens, Japanese inspired landscapes, indoor planting and offices. This medium sized Kokedama makes quite the statement, and is around the size of a small rockmelon.
The soil is carefully pulled from the plants roots, which are then carefully rolled into a clay-soil mixture that retains moisture and is then wrapped into a ball. Kokedamas are essentially living planters that can be hung from the ceiling or curtain rod for a stunning and striking splash of green. Consider layering different styles and sizes hung at different heights for a truly extravagant display. Kokedamas make a gorgeous and unusual gift for an attractive display piece, and are perfect as an ornamental decoration for any home or work-space.
The Bird's Nest Fern is a gorgeous evergreen that is a favourite among Aussie gardeners. This little guy seems almost made for Kokedamas, as it doesn't need to be repotted for 2 - 3 years. Bird's Nest Ferns are ideal for indoor gardens, as they hail from the tropics and adapt well to indoor environments. This Asplenium nidus variety is truly stunning with her leathery frond foliage in bright-greens and the nest-like centre.
They are also low maintenance and care, perfect for all those who are scared of adding more plant names to their graveyard! Simply submerge the Kokedama in water for 10 - 20 minutes once every few weeks. (Don't worry, we'll send out a ''Care for your Kokedama'' email with every purchase!)
All purchases come with the hanging string in black, which have an additional loop at the bottom to conjoin multiple Kokedamas. Add this stunner to your home today.
Low maintenance. Lightly frost tolerant, humidity hardy. Keep in a protected environment. Prefers shade.
