Melaleuca thymifolia Cotton Candy

Common Name: Cotton Candy Honey Myrtle

Availabilty: In Stock

The Cotton Candy Honey Myrtle is a beautiful evergreen crowned with bright pink clusters of bottlebrush flowers through spring and summer, and sporadically throughout the year. Although the pretty foliage is fine and dainty, the gorgeous flower clusters are what makes this girl a showstopper.

With a maximum growth of 800mm-1.5 metres, Cotton Candy is a small spreading shrub ideal for borders, rockeries, colour contrast, tub planting, and low maintenance gardening. Very hardy, this variety grows in most conditions and is low maintenance with the added bonus of being attractive to local birdlife. Happy potted or left to its' own devices in the garden while being drought friendly - perfect for those hard to grow areas.

Moderately frost tolerant, hardy to all other elements, drought resistant.  Most well drained soils.  Full sun or part shade.

This is a type of Australian or "Bush Tucker".  The flowers of Melaleuca varieties produce sweet nectar and you can suck the nectar out, or soak the flowers in water to make a sweet drink, but this plant is not edible.

We apologise, but this product cannot be sold into South Australia due to quarantine restrictions.
