Common Name: New Zealand Flax
Availabilty: In Stock
New Zealand Flax is a gorgeous evergreen with speared green foliage. Tubular red flowers appear on a tall spike in Summer, while the maximum growth is 1 - 2 metres. New Zealand Flax is famously hardy to wind, salt and frost and ideal for most environments.
Beaches or windswept areas don't bother this guy in the slightest, however, a slightly slower growth pattern will occur in a particularly exposed location. Ideal for hard-to-grow areas, tub planting, feature planting, bushscapes, rockeries, borders or beachscapes. New Zealand Flax is not only hardy, but low maintenance. Perfect for colour contrast in difficult areas and very popular!
Hardy to wind, salt & frost. Most soils; mulch in establishment. Full sun preferred, adapts to part shade.
