Rhapis excelsa, or the Broadleaf Lady Palm as it can be more commonly known, is one of the best small palm varieties available. This evergreen tropical palm grows small white flowers followed by small berries, and is a very pretty compact specimen.

Growing 1.5 - 2 metres tall, it is ideal for use as a patio or indoor plant, but is well suited to warmer outdoor climates. It is beautiful planted out in tubs or in sheltered areas of the garden and is beautifully low maintenance.

Prefers a well drained soil or potting mix - don't over water potted specimens. Avoid frost or windy areas - prefers shelter.  Filtered light or indoors. Will grow in full sun if sheltered from wind.
