The Dwarf Umbrella Tree is a broad leafed evergreen shrub that is highly sought after as an indoor plant. One of the most popular and easy to care for indoor plant varieties, this smaller cousin of the much larger Umbrella Tree grows 3 - 4 metres tall outdoors, however is a more typical 800 mm - 1.8 metres when kept indoors. Small red flowers appear in spring, transitioning to orange-red drupes that turn black in maturity, however plants kept indoors rarely flower.
Glossy green foliage is ideal for tropical gardens, indoor planting and feature planting, whilst also being a popular bonsai variety. Our Dwarf Umbrella is low care and exceedingly tolerant of neglect, so if your gardening style is more of a 'trial by fire' kind of deal, you might have met your soul-mate! Prune to maintain preferred size and shape.
Please note, this plant is toxic if ingested. So keep out of reach of children and pets.
Sensitive to frost. Most well drained soils. Tolerates full sun; prefers bright, indirect light or partial shade. Keep in sheltered location.
