Since Schlumbergera truncata can be a bit of a mouthful, this hugely popular succulent species is more commonly known as the Zygocactus, Christmas Cactus or the Crab’s Claw Cactus. Long lived and flowering abundantly in maturity throughout the cooler months, this variety's stunning asymmetrical flowers are in gorgeous pink to red tones.
Low maintenance, easy care, and shockingly long lived; you may remember these striking fellows from your grandmother's garden. In fact, it has been traditional to pass these memorable plants down throughout the family. Striking foliage clumps and arches to cascade attractively, while the very unique delicate weeping buds that appear throughout the cooler months make this a prized addition for indoor planting.
Growing in most environments in Australia and thriving as an indoor plant in cooler areas, add low-care colour to any garden or home. With a height up to 300mm, it's ideal for indoor plants, patio or container planting, conservatory planting, hanging baskets, colour contrast and added interest. Consider planting out in an hollow log or in hanging baskets and allow the weeping habit to cascade over the edge to spectacular effect.
Sensitive to frost, tolerant of drought. Most potted well drained soils. Prefers indoor environments with plenty of indirect sunlight. Winter flowering.
