Common Name: String of Dolphins
Availabilty: In Stock
The String of Dolphins is an incredibly rare succulent variety, so popular that Japanese stockists simply cannot keep this little cutie in stock! The beautiful, draping succulent literally looks like a pod of frolicking dolphins. A cross between the hot dog cactus and string of pearls, he boasts delicate leaves shaped like tiny dolphins leaping out of the water creating a charming, whimsical spectacle as they bead along the weeping stems. Pinkish-white small, star shaped flowers appear occasionally, while the chalky blue-green dolphin foliage is year round.
Growing up to 150 mm tall, and in ideal conditions can establish 500 mm of growth in the first year, we recommend allowing to hang or cascade to truly enjoy the unique beauty of this plant. Plant out in a hanging basket, or to stunning effect in assortments. As with most succulents, 'easy-care' an added bonus, limited watering required (in fact allow the plant to completely dry out between watering) and this little guy prefers bright, but indirect light, rendering it well suited for indoor environments, or protected outdoor environments.
Sensitive to frost. Well drained soils. Prefers bright, indirect light, semi to part shade.
