Senecio radicans ''String of Beans''

Common Name: String of Beans, String of Bananas, Necklace Plant, String of Fishhooks, Creeping Berry, Banana Vine

Availabilty: Out of Stock ENQUIRE NOW

The String of Beans is a popular succulent variety with trailing vines that are covered in cute ''bean'' or ''banana'' shaped succulent leaves. This fast-growing, quirky little succulent is the low maintenance alternative to ''String of Pearls''... much less fussy, but equally as attractive. Fragrant small yellow and purple or white flowers bloom in the cooler months (flowers rarely occur when this plant is kept indoors), that smell a little like cinnamon.

Great for adding textural interest indoors, this exotic little guy looks stunning in a hanging basket, or popped on a shelf indoors and allowing the pretty vines to trail down the sides, the vines can grow to 900 mm long!

Growing 100 - 300 mm tall, you can also utilise the String of Beans as a whimsical and wispy trailing ground-cover in a protected location outdoors, as it burns if in direct sunlight. It has the typical water needs for a succulent, water when the soil feels dry to the touch, and then allow to dry out again. We recommend not leaving it bone dry for extended periods. But he's relatively hardy, and a great starter plant if you're just learning your way around succulents!

Drought tolerant. Frost sensitive. Most well drained soils, does great in cacti or succulent soil bases. Part sun to Part shade, or brightly lit indoors.

Poisonous if ingested.
