Syzygium Austrae Tiny Trev, or Tiny Trev Lilly Pilly as it is more commonly known, is a smaller variety of the syzygium species. With a maximum height of 2 metres, this evergreen with it's dense foliage and bright green leaf is ideal for hedging or utilised as a windbreak. It can also be happily planted in a tub and shaped to retain a desired size or appearance.
White flowers appear during the summer months that are bird attracting, while new growth is bronze maturing to bright green. Low maintenance but great results is the key here, with the Tiny Trev Lilly Pilly requiring very little work, if any. Ideal for formal gardens, shaping and borders.
Frost & wind tolerant. Most well drained soils. Full sun.
This is a type of Australian "Bush Food" or "Bush Tucker". Syzygium australe varieties produce reddish coloured berries that can be eaten or cooked, and is typically made into jam or jelly.
