The gorgeous Kangaroo Grass is a tufted grass-like perennial that is popular all over Australia. This beauty provides striking colour, boasting green to grey leaves, that dry to an attractive orange brown in summer, and purple tones in winter months. Large red-brown spikelet flowers bloom throughout the summer months. 

Growing 300 mm - 1500 mm tall and up to 500 mm wide, this attractive ornamental grass is ideal in rockeries, utilised in native landscaping, erosion control, low care gardens and mass planting to become a ground-cover. Handling sandy or clay bases well, we recommend a yearly trim back after flowering to maintain a fresh appearance, but this tough little guy is quite happy left alone if that is more of your gardening style. Hardy, low maintenance and cheery as can be, Kangaroo Grass will be a beautiful addition to your garden.

Drought hardy once established. Most well drained soils, handles clay/sandy bases well. Full sun to part shade.
