The Lavender Star, or the Crossberry, is a beautiful evergreen that can utilised as a large shrub or a small tree. This beauty is fast growing with gorgeous oval shaped leaves and stunning lavender-purple star flowers that bloom during spring and summer, followed by brown berries.
Growing 1.5 to 2 metres tall, try growing the Lavender Star in a tub to spectacular result. The flowers are very attractive to bird and insect life, but especially so to butterflies. Popular for use as a bonsai, or planted out as a feature tree in gardens. The non-invasive root structure is ideal for planting along buildings or walkways, and looks stunning in tropical or cottage gardens.
Most well drained soils, preferring a moist base. Lightly frost tolerant. Prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade.
